Dandelion: The Extraordinary Life of a Misfit

Dandelion: The Extraordinary Life of a Misfit

Author: Sheelagh Mawe
Copyright: c.2004, TUT Enterprises, Inc.

This book tells the story of a horse that is a misfit. She is neither a workhorse nor a racehorse. It is
easy to read and the basic premise is that after all of the abuse and not fitting in, the horse goes out
on her own feeling sorry for herself and nearly dies. She meets a wise old horse who tells her that we
do not create the future from the past but from the present and if we think we are alone and misfit we
will be alone and a misfit but if we think we are strong and have a place, we can find our place.
This book would be really good for teens that are having problems, especially those that have had
trauma in their past, and it would be good for nearly anyone struggling to change their lives after
having a tough past. I very much enjoyed reading it. It would be a good one to have on your
bookshelf so you could loan it to a client, and see what they get out of it.
